Chesterfield County Fiscal News & Commentary
Many major county projects come WITHOUT CRITICAL DETAILS DISCLOSED BY THE COUNTY PR ORGANIZATION. Those details often tell a very different story than the county’s official narrative.
Here, we uncover the facts behind these projects, showing how Chesterfield County is spending tax dollars on infrastructure that benefits developers, including providing multi-decade tax breaks. YOU WON’T FIND THESE FACTS PUBLISHED ON THE COUNTY WEBSITE.

Transparency Regarding the County’s Role in Google Projects
| The sale of the Peanut property is a prime example of the EDA’s lack of transparency. While current online records show the last sale for zero dollars on July 1, 2025, the County wiped all previous sales records for the property prior to the Google Peanut announcement. Linked is a copy of the prior sale record to verify the transaction that has been removed from the county real estate assessment site. Specifically, the EDA paid $21,051,540 to Riley Lowe and King RJ JR TRS on March 20, 2020, and then sold the property the same day to Peanut LLC for $18,118,380. We maintain copies of these documents because the County has a history of wiping EDA records. These files clearly illustrate the intent to keep citizens from realizing the backroom deals prevalent during the Casey-Garrett Hart EDA reign.
